Support the troops at Bella Caley

December 7th, 2011

This holiday season, the store is collecting items to send overseas to an American serviceman the boutique is sponsoring through Hero Box. Bella Caley will be collecting items for its serviceman through February, so keep bringing items, even after the holidays are done!

The store got its first letter from our serviceman in December, and he loved the first box sent at the beginning of the month. Here’s what he had to say:

Hello Ladies,
I’d like to start off by saying thanks to all the ladies that contributed to the box I received- Cindy, Jenny, Caley and Laurie and to anyone else I might have missed. Thank you for the great items and the wonderful card you’ve send me.  We need this stuff more than ever now since imports to this country is slowing down. I am very greatful for all that you Ladies do! We might be the hero’s at war but you Ladies are the true hero’s at home taking care of us while we are deployed… once again! Thank you!!

Things the store is looking for shoppers to donate include: chewy candy, energy drinks, razors, microwaveable nonperishable food and batteries (AA and AAA). See below for a full list of items.

The store kicked off its collection on Black Friday and will be sending its serviceman packages each month through March to lift his spirits! The Hero Box program is a nonprofit organization that supports deployed American service members by providing the physical items and moral support our heroes need when they’re far from home.

And while you’re at the store this holiday season, be sure to check out all the great gift ideas for women of all ages. Bella Caley has affordable jewelry, delicious scented candles, luxurious handbags and special holiday outfits to take you from the office party to New Year’s Eve on the town.

Fight the fall fashion frumps

October 30th, 2011

Sad to see the summer sun go? Not to worry! We’ve got some truly uplifting and unique fall pieces to make your warm weather wardrobe dazzle.

Make a statement with a maxi skirt

We have a stellar new maxi by Gracia that truly is boho chic.

Maxi skirts made it on the runway for New York’s Fashion Week and are a fantastic alternative to wearing pants when the temperatures drop.  Maxi skirts look great with a pair of short or tall boots, and can be paired with sweaters or even a basic long sleeve tee and long necklaces for a gorgeous layered look.

Get comfy with cozy sweaters

We have a huge selection of cozy sweaters perfect for crisp fall days.

A girl can never have enough snuggly sweaters, whether she’s staying in or out on the town.  Pair one of our cute sweaters with skinny jeans or leggings and a great pair of boots, and you’re set.  The versatility and warmth of a great sweater is always in style.

A little bit of lace never hurts

Lace is a major trend for fall, and the perfect way to show a hint of skin while keeping warm. Pair a lace top with a ladylike skirt for a romantic look, or mix it up with a leather jacket and jeans for a sexy mix of soft and tough.

Let a lace top peek out from under a sweater or tee, or use it to soften a well-cut blazer. Lace is definitely not just for under clothes anymore!

Newborn rings to coveted bling

September 14th, 2011

When Dana D’Angelo puts her mind to something, she doesn’t mess around.

The River Forest native decided to make her own jewelry eight years ago and subsequently tore through several books and countless magazines learning the craft, in addition to attending classes and bead shows.

TERU AMARO Bling Rings available at Bella Caley

Dana learned all she could about making quality jewelry and honed in on the Miyuki stitching technique, which was the basis for her first Bling Rings, made with Swarovski crystals.

Her first ring was far from a success, however. “It would probably fit a newborn,” Dana said with a laugh.

But, she began working with a stretchy material instead and mastered the signature square and Princess styles of her popular Swarovski and bead-woven stretch rings.

Bella Caley was the first boutique to carry Dana’s beautiful Swarovski rings and recently added her collection of Swarovski and sterling silver earrings.

Dana also finds time to put her jewelry-making prowess to help others: she’s visited Zambia to teach women and children there to make their own jewelry using the Miyuki technique.

Stop by today to check out Dana’s TERU AMARO line. All colors, sizes and styles of stretch rings and just released earrings made with Swarovski crystals. They make great gifts!

Brand new to the store - Swarovski TERU AMARO earrings!

Bella Caley named one of Naperville’s “Top Spots”

August 30th, 2011

What an exciting summer this has been!

With one year in business under our (very chic) belt, Bella Caley has been racking up the accolades and honors. We couldn’t be more honored and thrilled!

As you might have heard, we were named Naperville’s Favorite Apparel Boutique earlier this summer by Glancer Magazine readers.

And we also were recognized recently as one of Naperville’s best women’s boutiques at the Best of Naperville awards!

Now we’ve got another exciting honor to share with you! Bella Caley, long championed by Yelp users, was recently featured on Windy City Live’s rundown of Naperville’s Top Spots.
And we’re in good company!

Check out the segment below. Our part is around the 1:15 mark, but it’s fun to hear about all the great Naperville places:

Fall shopping – that helps others!

August 18th, 2011

We’re so excited for fall clothes, but even more so because we know all shopping at Bella Caley next weekend will help a wonderful young couple in need.

Naperville native Mikey Horwitz, a graduate of Naperville Central, met his wife Kendra and fell in love as many young couples do, but not long after getting married, they had to face something rare for a couple so young: a major health crisis.

NCHS grad Mikey Horowitz and his wife Kendra

Kendra suffered a collapsed lung due to complications of Valley Fever and battled for her life through two surgeries and multiple hospital stays. Now the young couple’s medical bills have piled up, and though Kendra is thankfully doing much better, they’re still working to pay off the bills resulting from the scare.

So, Aug. 27 & 28 we are donating 20% of all sales to  Mikey and Kendra to help them start their new life together on sturdy ground.

And all you have to do to help these sweet young kids? Shop! How fun is that?!

Just in time for fall, stock up on gorgeous light sweaters, beautiful blouses and chic handbags that double as fab schoolbags!

Everything you buy will go toward helping a lovely young couple in need of some extra help.

Do you hear what we hear?

June 21st, 2011

If there’s one thing we at Bella Caley love almost as much as shopping, it’s great music.

In fact, we often get questions about the fun range of music we play at the store – we’ve even gotten requests for mix cds!

One of the tracks burning up our iPod right now? Melanie Fiona’s gorgeous “You Stop My Heart.”

We’re also loving Milwaukee band Maritime’s old and new albums:

Speaking of Milwaukee, Summerfest is about to start, and you know what that means – time for cute concert clothes!

We’ve got everything a girl could want for summer concert season, from carefree yet sexy maxi dresses to cutoff jeans shorts and flowy tops.

Pick up the latest issue of Naperville Magazine for a 20% off coupon to Bella Caley – and save on some of these great summer looks!

Going, going GONE! Naperville designer’s creations are one-of-a-kind

February 14th, 2011

Naperville resident Bonnie Bulger has an interior design background – but these days she specializes in dressing up your exterior with her gorgeous handmade jewelry designs.

“It’s a wonderful creative outlet for me,” said the mother of two. “Color is a big inspiration to me. I enjoy experimenting with different color and texture combinations.”

Bonnie said there’s a number of similarities between her design passions and that elements such as color inspire her to create. In the past five years, the designer of BEB Jewlery has taken her love of 1940s and ’50s style and transformed it into one-of-a-kind jewelry that won’t break the bank.

“I have always been drawn to vintage styles,” she said. “I like the glamour and elegance of the styles of the 40′s and early 50′s. I like to design pieces that are feminine and romantic with a vintage feel.”

Pieces Bonnie has created for Bella Caley include romantic rose necklaces and Parisian-chic earrings of metal and crystal.

Stop by the store today to see what BEB Designs we have in stock, because oftentimes once one of Bonnie’s pieces is gone, it’s gone forever. She features limited materials that result in unique, beautiful designs you won’t spot on the lady next to you at this weekend’s cocktail party.

BEB Designs are sold exclusively at Bella Caley.
